Dear Miss Chandler, We close our house for the winter to-morrow and leave for Maplewood. I Ieave pleasant memories, and take pleasant ones with me, of your visits here, and look forward to others when we shall return. Meanwhile, shall we [pagebreak] we not chance to come near in Boston, or elsewhere? I feel somewhat unwilling to date letters from any other place than [underline]'Concord.â [/underline] but must content to write Maplewood, or some other, for the four or five months to come. I trust your adventurous voyage came to a happy end. Cordially Yours, 1. Benson Alcott
